The Client Care Specialist is the client's first contact when calling or visiting the practice and as such represents the professional image of the practice to callers and visitors.
The successful candidate will be required to develop knowledge of the veterinary profession, including medical terminology, answering a multi-line phone, Cornerstone Veterinary computer system, and assisting clients in scheduling, checking in, and checking out procedures.
The exceptional Client Care Specialist has the ability to diffuse negative client situations and foster client bonding.
Education and Licensure Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Customer Service background.
Typing skills are required.
Some computer knowledge is required; comfortable with Word, keyboarding, and use of communication tools such as email.
Experience Requirements:
Significant experience with basic office functions in a busy office environment.
Previous customer service and veterinary practice experience are desirable but not required.
Client Care Specialist responsibilities and duties:
Answering phones.
Can work to maintain an effective veterinarian appointment schedule, screening emergencies and prioritizing cases that need to be seen.
Greeting clients, getting weights on patients, taking a medical history.
Checking clients out after their appointments, taking cash, credit card, and Care Credit payments.
Knowledge of vaccines required for pets in their life stages recommended annual testing and the importance of these tests.
Can educate clients on over-the-counter products.
Assess pet medical emergencies, and humane euthanasia, with empathy and compassion, dealing with clients in stressful situations.
Use of the Cornerstone Veterinary computer system, plus general computer skills including Word and sending email.
Using a copier, scanning documents, and faxing.
Be able to lift 40 pounds.
Assist clients with carrying food to their cars.
Helping bring pets into or out of the clinic, sometimes on a cart.
Appointment reminder calls and recheck calls for the doctor.
Must be comfortable around dogs, cats, and small animals, including rabbits, rats, and birds.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the waiting room and reception area.

Benefits:
Full-time>32 hours or working 5 days a week:
Paid major holidays.
One week of paid vacation starting at one-year post-employment.
(2 weeks at 3 years and 3 weeks at 5 years).

Health Insurance, dental, and vision are available for full-time employees after 90 days.
Compensation is based on experience.
